Timp Blast Champs!

So, I am a little delayed in this post...but, here goes! Hannah's soccer team took 1st place in their district level! Super cool! And, I know I have said this before, but...they played so great! They looked like champs! Isn't it funny how practice works?

There was a bit of bad news that came along with the high...her coaches have decided to step down and coach their sons. :( We are soooo sad! They have been the best...I mean, THE BEST coaches ever. And not because we won-we didn't have the winning season last year like we did this year. But these two men love our girls. I remember someone, I think my mom, saying, "I love those who love my children." It's true. They have been so kind, gentle and patient with these girls. Not to mention I think we had the best parents on our side. We played a few teams...I was glad when the game was over. Anyway, we have had a super great season. Because of this, I have been a little, ummmmmmm, befuddled. I have been considering our options. If we switch teams, will we regret it? Maybe we should go out on a high note, yada-yada... Hannah thought about retiring...at the age of 10. But she still has a few good years in her. So I had a conversation with her coach about these concerns, etc. To make a long story short...guess who may be the next Timp Blast co-coach? I'm not sure what happened in that phone call. Anyway, I'll keep you posted. And much to my surprise, I have Hannah's approval. Here are a few shots from the tourney. Way to go girls!

I found out how difficult it is to get just the right clip in soccer. This is as good as it got. And try to ignore the cheerleader...that same weirdo always turns up!

Emergency Room

Hannah had a soccer game today. Timp Blast played awesome! They passed so great! They just keep getting better and better! They won 7-0. Hannah had the rare opportunity of playing goalie the first half-she usually plays mid-field or forward. Anyway, she did great-she stopped two goals and her kicks were great! But just before half, one of her team mates, Linda, got tangled up with another player. We luckily have a dad from our team who is a orthopedic surgeon. After a quick glance, Linda was off to the emergency room. Hannah was pretty angry with me that I wouldn't rush down to the hospital to see how she was doing. We had to have a reminder of the non-appropriateness of pouting just because things don't turn out like she wants...aka, because she doesn't get her way. Bad Guy Mom again. Anyway, I explained to her that the emergency room team probably wouldn't appreciated the whole Timp Blast soccer team and their families (even if ours is small) running down to check it out...even if Linda would. But, she was really worried about her. (She even mentioned her at our dinnertime prayer.) Well, Linda's mom called. She informed us that Linda broke both her bones just below the knee. OOWWWCH! Hannah spends the weekend at her dad's who just happens to live a block away from Linda's family. Hannah has already made her a card and is planning on trip to Linda's tomorrow-maybe to take a movie or a book. DARN! Before we received the phone call from Lusz (Linda's mom), Hannah asked me if it was her femur that she broke-moer than once. I thought it was a little odd that she would ask that. No, I replied. And I left it at that. I mean, I guess it could have been. But it was just one of those things that I kept wondering about-why she would ask that. Then it dawned on me...we are Brian Regan fans-as is my family. We own one of his DVDs and recently watched it. I hope this doesn't come across as insensitive...but I think this is why Hannah asked. We love Linda, and are going to miss her at the practices and games! (For those of you with little ears and eyes around, this is a PG clip. You will also need to pause the music player at the bottom to watch!)
